Be Kind: Helping Our Neighbors at Broadview-Thomson K-8

For the past seven years, Broadview-Thomson K-8 has been the recipient of the proceeds from the “Blessing of the Backpacks” fall food drive and, as of 2019, part of the Giving Tree at Christmas.

BTK-8 is the Seattle Public School Hub tasked with distributing food donations to the wider community.  There is currently a very significant need, and they are asking for our help.  Donations are being accepted online through Vanco.  Click on the designation “BTK-8 Emergency Food Program” and add the amount you’d like to give.  Your donation will go directly to the Broadview-Thomson Food Coordinator, Samantha Woogerd, who will purchase the necessary food items in bulk stretching the funds to help as many students and families as possible.

Ms. Woogerd would like the St. John community to know that the BTK-8 community is very grateful for the continued support.  One never knows the impact of a gift.  The food donated last fall and the gift cards donated in December are making a great impact right now during the current crisis.  Thank you for any help you are able to give.
