Mass for the Weekend of April 25 and 26

Mass will be live-streamed on our Facebook page at 5pm Saturday, 4/25.  Click here for the worship aid.  You do not need a Facebook account to stream the Mass. A recorded version will be available on Sunday, or you can watch the Facebook version, it just won’t be truly live.

Can We Offer You Assistance?

St. Vincent de Paul Ministry     If you are at high risk or are afraid to go shopping, email us or call the parish office at 206-782-2810 and leave a message.  We will be happy to drop off one or two bags of canned or packaged goods from our pantry and deliver them to your door (no contact).  If you have special dietary needs, please let us know, and we will try to accommodate you as best as we can.

Can You Give Assistance?

Catholic Community Services Sewing Bee     A little known fact is that the Old English meaning of “bee” is “prayer or a favor.”  A “sewing bee” refers to “neighbors joining to work on a single activity to help a neighbor in need.”

CCS invites you to join Catholic Community Services Sewing Bee to help make 10,000 masks for the safety of CCS/CHS front line staff who are working around the clock to provide essential services to our vulnerable neighbors in need.  CCS provides sewing instructions and a list of CCS locations where you can drop off or mail your mask donation on its sewing bee page.

St. John Rosary for Those Affected by COVID-19     Join the St. John community in praying the rosary every week for all those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.  We will pray the rosary together as a community (from our individual homes) on Saturday, 4/25 at 8pm, or you can pray at a time that works better for your family.  Click here for the link to this week’s rosary.  Click here to download a Rosary guide.

Please Give If You Can     We know this is a difficult time for many in our community, but we ask that, if you are able please continue to financially support our Parish.  Even though we have cut back on parish and school activities and the celebration of Mass in the church, we have made the commitment to pay wages for all parish and school employees.  We are projecting an increase in expenses related to pastoral care, funerals, and tuition assistance.  Your support of St. John helps ensure our financial viability to get through the crisis.  Please mail your donation or sign up for online giving.  Asante Sana to all those who are continuing to mail in checks and donate online.  Your continued support means so much!

A Note from the Director of Sacraments

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to celebrate the Sacraments of our Church as we usually would.  Anointing of the Sick can be arranged; please contact us directly if that Sacrament is needed at 206-782-2810 or email to parishoffice@stjohnsea.org.  If it is a pastoral emergency, please call 206-300-0972.

Other sacraments (first communion, marriage, funeral masses) will be celebrated once we are able to join together in our church.  We ask that everyone offer up prayers for those families who are having to postpone a sacramental celebration.  We especially pray for our First Communion families, and for those families preparing for Baptism and entry into the Church.
