Chef Michael’s Recipe of the Week: Macaroni and Cheese

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines comfort food as “food prepared in a traditional style, having a usually nostalgic or sentimental appeal.”  This week, Chef Michael shares his recipe for the ultimate comfort food:  macaroni and cheese!  Remember to wash your hands!

Macaroni and Cheese

  • Half box macaroni noodle cooked al denté
  • 8 oz. cheddar cheese grated
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  In a bowl combine al denté cooked noodles, heavy cream, 6 oz. cheddar cheese, and American cheese slices and mustard.  Mix everything together and season with salt and pepper.  Pour in a casserole dish and top with two oz. cheddar.  Put in the oven and cook until everything is melted and golden brown, about 25 minutes.
