Accreditation Update

As we approach our Centennial celebration and prepare for an Accreditation visit, we would like to share the school’s new Mission Statement that will guide us forward:

St. John School is a welcoming Catholic community, committed to celebrating diversity and inspiring moral development, academic excellence, and the courage to act for the common good.

Administration would like to recognize the faculty, Accreditation Leadership Team, the School Commission, and you parents, our stakeholders, for all your efforts this school year with the self-study process. Of particular note is the collaboration you provided in helping the faculty articulate a new Mission Statement. You will notice language from our prior mission statement, with a commitment to celebrating diversity in our community. Beyond the crafting of new mission and philosophy statements, you participated in surveys, attended stakeholders’ meetings, reviewed narratives and offered constructive feedback in the four domains of focus that drive the assessment protocol (Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence, and Operational Vitality). Through this thorough gathering of evidence, reporting, reflection, and data analysis, the school has articulated strengths and critical areas for growth. These critical areas for growth form an Educational Improvement Plan that the school addresses during a six-year cycle of accreditation. A visiting team, comprised of members representing the Western Catholic Educational Association, will be on campus February 13-15, 2023 to validate and approve our self-study findings and improvement plans. Look for more information in the fall about our school’s plans to help meet the learning needs of students and ensure long-term viability and vitality.
