COVID-19 Guidance for School Year 2022-23

Welcome back St. John Families! We are looking forward to the 2022-23 school year. The Department of Health (DOH) provided updated guidance regarding COVID-19 for PreK and K-12 schools on 8/5/2022 (the full document can be found here). There are some updates to COVID-19 protocols compared to what was in place at the end of last school year. Next week we will provide details about the protocols that will be in place as teachers, staff, and students return to school. Here are a few points to note:

  • Masking will be optional for students, staff, and volunteers
  • K-8 students will return to eating lunch in the lunchroom
  • Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are required to isolate for 5 full days and wear a mask for days 6-10
  • Masking and/or testing may be required for a period of time in the case of an outbreak (defined as 3 or more positive cases in a cohort)
  • The school will continue to update the COVID Data Dashboard with information about COVID cases
  • Students who show any signs of illness are required to stay home and should be tested for COVID-19
  • Rapid antigen test kits will continue to be available to students and staff in the main office
  • All volunteers and employees are required to be fully vaccinated
