In-Person Advent Wreath-Making Party

After two years of picking up Advent Wreath kits and making the wreaths at home, we are once again hosting the in-person Advent Wreath Party!

  • When: Sunday, November 27
  • Where: Egan Hall
  • Time: After the 10:30am Mass

We will provide all the supplies to make the wreaths. There will be Christmas music, donuts, coffee, hot chocolate and other goodies. A $10 goodwill donation will help cover our costs. If you are interested in helping out with this event or have a high school student who needs service hours, please contact Teresa Gillett at tgillett@stjohnsea.org – or just come on by.

November is Stewardship Month! Please Make Your Stewardship Pledge for 2023!

By now you should have received the 2023 Stewardship letter from Fr. Crispin, which also includes the 2021-2022 Annual Report. Asante sana to everyone who has already made their pledge. We ask that each family prayerfully discern their financial commitment to St. John for the coming year.

The weekly offertory helps sustain our parish financially and serve the ministries at St. John and the wider community. Because of rising costs and lower collections, we experienced a budget shortfall in the last fiscal year. To help meet our budget for this year, Fr. Crispin asks that if you are able, would you consider increasing your pledge? Just $3 per week will go a long way to help. To make a pledge, please go to https://bit.ly/PledgeStJohn.

If you haven’t watched this year’s State of the Parish, please take a look. It is available on the parish website at www.stjohnsea.org.

School Families: one of the criteria to remain eligible for Parish Fair Share Tuition is to watch the video of the State of the Parish presentation.

Mass & a Movie! Calling All Families with Kids Ages Preschool-3rd Grade!

Please join us on Saturday, December 10 for Mass at 5pm followed by pizza and a movie in the Admin Building. We encourage everyone to wear a Christmas sweater or outfit to Mass and bring your comfiest items (jammies, a stuffy, pillow, etc.) to get cozy during the movie. Parents need to stay with their kids at this event, and there will be a basket for donations to help cover the cost of the pizza. We will be showing “The Star,” the story of the first Christmas seen through the eyes of the animals in the manger. Check out the trailer here. Please contact Rachael Groark to RSVP (so we have enough pizza!) or if you have questions at rachaelgroark@gmail.com.
