Principal’s Letter

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

Many of the children delighted me with stories of their adventures over Christmas. Faculty and staff thank you for your generous holiday gifts and wishes.

Tomorrow we will have a prayer service to celebrate the Epiphany, recalling the Magi who traveled to worship the long-awaited Messiah. Remind your children that it is dress uniform tomorrow. The liturgical season of Christmas is almost over. On Tuesday, the priest once again wears green vestments as we move into ordinary time. But there is nothing ordinary about it. Ordinary Time is the celebration of weekly Mass, identifying us as a community that comes together each week to remember that God is always with us and to thank Him for His love. The Parish Faith Formation Leadership Team invites us to further build community after Mass with specific events, such as Mass, Pizza and Movie Night for students in grades 5 through 8 on Saturday, January 14, starting at 5pm.

The students are off to a great start! They must have made firm resolutions to live out the mission and the Student Learning Expectations. The Soaring Eagle jar is filling quickly with examples of Christ-centered, active learners and empowered disciples. Keep encouraging your children. The Centennial celebrations, Catholic Schools Week and the accreditation site visit are right around the corner, adding excitement as we head into 2023. It’s going to be a great year!

God bless,

Bernadette O’Leary
