Principal’s Letter

Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, and it’s Auction Day – I can feel the excitement! The pipers will help us start the day, Irish and Scottish style. Join us.

We will bookend the day with the Auction. Limber up your arm and get ready to Shake Your Shamrock! Your purchases support the operating budget, allowing us to pay our faculty and staff a just salary and purchase instructional programming. All Fund-a-Need donations will update the play-pit with new padding for fall protection, a lush synthetic playground grass and new age-appropriate play structures. The children thank you. Also, don’t forget to send in raffle tickets (sold and unsold) tomorrow. Free dress for children whose family has returned the raffle tickets.

Thank you to Karen Bombino, Kristen Capka, Andrea Marquez, Jonna Skokan, Paul Kelley, Father Crispin, our sponsors and donors, the Maintenance Team, Ron Hippee, Lucas Welch, the Dessert Dash Team, the Graphic Design Team, volunteer coordinators, Robin Burrowes, Allan Quiaoit, Eliza Feudner, auction photographers, the Keith Highlanders Pipe Band, the Irish song and dance performers, class liaisons, art project leads, day of volunteers, St. John faculty and staff and every person who helped make this Auction successful – thank you. Shake Your Shamrock would not be possible without your generosity.

In the midst of celebration, do recall that we continue on our Lenten journey. Yesterday at Mass, Fr. Crispin reminded primary students about the many ways we can pray to God. They can say the prayers they are learning, give thanks for their food, and they can simply talk to God at any time. This season of Lent is a good time to add more prayer and reflection to your day.

Sláinte mhaith aguibh! Bernadín Ni Laoire!
