Principal’s Letter
Yesterday, students in grades 3-5 attended Mass. It was the Feast of St. Luke the Evangelist, and Fr. Crispin shared that Luke, through his Gospel, highlighted God’s mercy and God’s love for all, especially the poor and the marginalized. Fr. Crispin thanked the students for showing care and compassion through their charitable acts. He reminded them to stand firm in their faith.
Students in grades 3-8 brought home progress reports today. Review the reports with your child. This is an opportunity to discuss how school is going as you prepare for conferences.
Also take time to talk to your child about their experience in the ShakeOut today. We are continually working to improve our emergency response protocol. Questions about our emergency preparedness can be directed to Paul Kelley, Assistant Principal, pkelley@st-johnschool.org.
On Sunday, we tailgate at Cortina as we gather to support St. John and the Endowment. It’s going to be a grand day out. I am aware that besides the Seahawks game, there are many CYO playoff games – more reasons to tailgate! If you can’t attend the Endowment event, you can still score for St. John by making an online gift – touchdown St. John!
On Tuesday, join Dr. Schoenfelder Gonzalez as she talks about the importance of executive functions and how children can cultivate them. Thank you, Parent Association, for arranging this informative presentation.
As the regular CYO soccer season wraps up, I want to thank all the coaches who donated their time to leading the teams. I also want to recognize our CYO Cross-Country coaches and volunteers on their great season. Enjoy the annual Pumpkin Run on Friday.
Do all your work in love,
Bernadette O’Leary
