Principals’ Letter

It was so gratifying to see over 300 of you ‘Zoom in’ for Tuesday’s State of the School presentation. I want to thank the administrative team and the School Commission for their work in helping build the presentation. Thank you also to parents for your feedback. It is evident you truly value the community and Fair Share. I look forward to meeting the rest of you in person this evening when we present live in Egan Hall at 7pm.

I trust all of you will be 10:30am Mass and Open House this Sunday as we begin Catholic Schools Week. Throughout the week we will celebrate students, teachers, parents, the community and all that makes us Catholic. Fr. Crispin will lead the entire school in a Eucharistic Adoration procession on Thursday, February 1. You are welcome to attend as he processes through the school, leading the students back to the church. Students in grades 3-8 are practicing their spelling, and the finalists will compete on Tuesday, parents are preparing to share their vocations with their children’s classes, and teachers are looking forward to highlighting students’ work during Open House. Let’s not forget the Book Fair, a favorite with students and all of us! It will be in the Library (Portable 40) after the Mass on Sunday. After you browse and shop, visit the Makerspace and the art room. There will be cookies in the area. Check out the schedule for the entire week and enjoy the celebrations.

Don’t forget tomorrow, Friday, is Free Dress for students whose families have made their auction procurement. Thank you and be on the watch for ticket sales to launch next week for the March 15 auction event at Fremont Studios. Your generosity and sponsorship are so appreciated.

As we celebrate Catholic education, I ask you to prayerfully discern your commitment to St. John as you begin re-enrollment. Look out for the “Re-enrollment is Open” email; it includes directions on the re-enrollment process for your current students. See you Sunday.

Happy Catholic Schools Week!
