Principal’s Letter

Alleluia! The fifty days from the Sunday of the Resurrection to Pentecost Sunday are celebrated with great joy, like one long feast day. Jesus is risen. As we become aware of the regrowth in spring, the rich and varied textures of creation, we are invited to awaken our memory of God’s presence and power in our lives.

We’ve only been back to school for four days, and the school is abuzz with activity. Students in grade 6 braved the cold and rain to release salmon at Carkeek Park, Math Olympiads ‘mathletes’ celebrated the season with the ‘Breakfast of Champions’ – thank you, Ms. Kelley and Mrs. Traywick for leading the team – and the Bishop Blanchet High School Choir performed for our students. What a week!

Students have a long stretch of uninterrupted 5-day school weeks coming up. Let’s take advantage of this academic time. Next week, progress reports will be sent home, and Spring MAP testing will begin soon. We look forward to noting the growth our students have made and ending the year on a high note.

Beyond our campus, I would like to share an update about the important work the Washington State Catholic Conference does on our behalf. The WSCC serves and supports our Catholic schools throughout Washington via interaction with legislators at the state and federal levels. The WSCC’s Catholic Schools Newsletter for Spring 2024 is available here for you to peruse.

Good luck to our volleyball teams this weekend as they take to the court again after the Easter break. And thanks to our track coordinators and volunteers. Practices started this week. Parent Association is meeting tomorrow, Friday, at 8:30am in Egan Hall cafeteria. You are invited to attend this monthly meeting.

Peace,

Bernadette O’Leary
