Principal’s Letter

Each May we celebrate Mary, the mother of God. Yesterday, her statue was placed front and center on the altar and surrounded with vases. The students processed into church and filled the vases with flowers. Two eighth-grade students, Maggie and Keane, crowned the statue of Mary in her honor as Cantionis sang. Then fourth-grade students led us in a meditative recitation of the Rosary. Following that liturgy, AM Preschool and AM XDC students gathered in the courtyard and sang as Maggie and Keane crowned the statue of Mary there. It was a beautiful way to start the month of May.

Each May, we also celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and honor these communities’ many contributions and achievements, which have greatly enriched our country. For more information, visit the Asian Pacific American Heritage site.

The next two weeks promise to be busy and fun, with field trips, Bike to School Day, Grand Day, First Holy Communion, middle school travel/field trips and the Welcome New Families Happy Hour! Be sure to save these dates, get those RSVPs in and sign up to volunteer.

We wish our Greek Orthodox brothers and sisters a Happy Easter!
