Principal’s Letter
What a wonderful week of celebration. Congratulations to the Class of 2024! You are ready to soar on to the next adventure. We are very proud of you. May you continue to be Christ-centered, active learners and empowered disciples. Parents, we are honored to have been your partners in building these children’s educational foundation. On behalf of the faculty and staff, I wish you and your children all the best. The Baccalaureate ceremony will take place on Sunday at 1pm.
At yesterday’s assembly for the graduates, the students also acknowledged Fr. Crispin and myself. It was a very moving, yet fun event as each class wished us all well. Check out the photos on Instagram. Students and faculty also said thank you and goodbye to Mr. Mark Gerling, kitchen assistant. He has served us well for six years. We wish Mr. Gerling the very best.
We would also like to thank Dick’s Drive-In Burgers for sponsoring lunch today. Students and staff were abuzz with excitement when the Dick’s Drive-In mobile truck pulled into the parking lot. I can tell you many, many students were anxiously waiting for lunch and milk shakes. Students and staff were treated to their choice of burgers and shakes. Lunch was delicious, and it was a beautiful day to picnic on the blacktop. Thank you, Dick’s Drive-In and the Donovan family for making the last day of hot lunch so special!
There is still a lot to celebrate after we wish the 8th-graders a happy graduation. Next week, the intermediate students will participate in Field Day, preschool students have Portfolio Share & Picnic and kindergartners will have their own graduation. All students are eagerly awaiting Bump It Up Day and signing of yearbooks. There is so much happy energy in the air – what a great time to be at St. John.
As we prepare for the end of the year, parents, you have some housekeeping items:
- Return all library books by tomorrow, Friday, 6/7.
- Leave farewell messages on Mrs. Q.’s kudoboard and Fr. Crispin’s kudoboard by 6/10.
- Check Lost and Found. Items not claimed will be cleared at the end of the school day on 6/14.
- RSVP for Fr. Crispin’s celebration by 6/17.
- Donate gently used kids’ items (ages 0-12) to WestSide Baby. Collection cribs are located in the entryway of Egan Hall as well as the vestibule of the church. More information about donation items can be found here.
Congratulations, Class of 2024!
