Principal’s Letter – Do the Good Works

Wow! What a kick-off; we had over 1,000 people in attendance for our Back-to-School BBQ. Thank you to our Parent Association and ALL our many volunteers who helped make this event such a success. St. John is a remarkable community, not just because of the people who are a part of it, but because of the way we all come together to support the mission of our school. We are a community that celebrates diversity, pursues academic excellence, encourages moral development and acts with courage for the common good.

Tomorrow we are celebrating our students’ efforts this summer to pursue academic excellence through our Summer Learning Incentive programs; please see our updated non-uniform dress policy here.  We also have an opportunity tomorrow to work together for the common good with our annual Blessing of the Backpacks. Join us in Egan Hall immediately following the Blessing of the Backpacks for our first PA meeting of the year. And, don’t forget about the huge fundraising event going on right now: the Jog-A-Thon. Señor Pablo and I agree – this is one of our favorite events of the year – and your support helps make it a success; encourage your student to decorate those t-shirts, which will be sent home next week, and help us reach our goal of $100,000. Donate here; every dollar counts!

As this News Views is being sent we are hosting our Middle School Curriculum Night. Thank you teachers for the time and attention you put into these presentations. We look forward to seeing our K-5 families on September 26.

Congratulations to Sarah Olsen and her family as they welcomed the newest addition to their family, Ivy Elizabeth – welcome to the St. John family, Ivy!

Blessings,

Abby Mansfield
