CYO Athletics – Go, Eagles!
CYO Cross Country
Congratulations to our entire team on another successful cross-country season! Below are a few highlights from the Championship Meet and Ribbon Run on 10/6:
- The meet was highlighted by countless personal bests and goals accomplished, and our St Al/John team placed second overall in all of CYO.
- THANK YOU to our K to 3 parents. We had 70 athletes run in the K to 3 races on Sunday!
- Congrats to Saskia D. and Emmy G. for placing 1st and 2nd in their group!
- Congratulations to our 6th-grade girls – Eden W. (4th place), Sloane F. (6th), Kira B. (7th), Phoebe G. (11th), Hannah H.(32nd), Lucy E. (34th), and Sophia B. (44th) – for winning their division!
- Congrats to our 8th-grade boys for finishing second to Holy Rosary Seattle by the SLIMMEST of margins: a mere 2 points. The squad was led by August S. who finished 3rd overall, completing the 1.6 mile race in a blazing 8:55, and beating his previous PR by nearly 30 seconds.
- Adding boys and girls totals for each grade, St Al/John finished first in 8th grade, second in 7th and 6th grades, and third in 5th grade, and we had the most (and fastest!) runners in 3rd grade: the future is bright, and there’s plenty of room on the bandwagon for the rest of St Al and St John to join up.
Congratulations again to our 148 runners! On behalf of Coach James and Coach Nate, THANK YOU for spending your Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays with us this Fall. Please join us on Tuesday 10/15 at 5:30pm for the Pumpkin Run, and we’ll see you next season at Metro Hill and the Rose Garden.
