Principal’s Letter

We are God’s masterpieces, using our gifts and talents to contribute to the life of this vibrant community. Over the past several weeks you have had the opportunity to meet some of our integral community members – you have met our PA chairs, our Jog-A-Thon team, and today I would like to introduce you to our School Commission.

This consultative board meets monthly under the leadership of Chairperson, Melissa Herron. The School Commission is a means of connecting our organization to the people we serve. They help us hear the needs of the community, and they help the community hear the school’s needs for support. We are currently in the intentional discernment process of adding new members to our school commission to ensure that we are fulfilling our mission to celebrate the diversity represented within our community. We look forward to introducing you to all the members of our school commission once this process is complete.

It was great to see some of you in person and online on Monday night to hear Jodee Blanco speak about her experience with bullying. If you didn’t get a chance to attend, the video recording is available here. I encourage you all to watch it and check out her thorough Parent Digital Resources Packet.

We look forward to celebrating our successful Jog-A-Thon tomorrow. During our morning celebration assembly, we will also recognize our cross-country team for their outstanding achievements, including a 2nd place team trophy at last weekend’s championship meet, a 1st place trophy for the 6th grade girls’ team, and multiple top 5 individual finishes by our students. Way to go runners!

Have a wonderful weekend, enjoy those sunny soccer games, and don’t forget – Tuesday, October 15 is student portrait day.
