Principal’s Letter – Let’s Hear it for the St. John Community!
I have said it before, and I am sure I will say it again, one of the things that continually sets St. John apart from the rest is our Parish School community. We saw this in spades at the Oktoberfest Endowment Event last Saturday night. Thank you to our Endowment team and the many volunteers who helped make this event such a success. Not only did we have a blast, but we raised over $25,000 towards our Endowment Fund. Prost!
As I get ready to turn the calendar to November, I am reminded of all things fall, including cooler, wetter weather. We have had some damp, chilly recesses recently; remember to send your students to school with warmer outer gear. Also, many students are showing up to school in sweatshirts that are not part of the St. John School uniform. As a reminder, grades K-5 may only wear the navy blue school sweatshirt or cardigan in the classroom (middle school students may wear the grey hoodie) – all other sweatshirts, including our fabulous St. John spirit gear, may only be worn at recess or on non-uniform days.
Thank you for your partnership in joining us for teacher conferences. The parent/school bond is an essential component in your student’s academic success. We are grateful to you for carving out time in your busy schedules to prioritize these meetings. Thank you for also prioritizing the State of the Parish Mass presentations this weekend. Those of your who are paying the Parish tuition rate are required to attend one of the three Masses. We look forward to seeing you there. Additionally, we want to invite you to join us for our next all-school Mass on Friday, November 1 at 9am. These student-led Masses are a beautiful way to start your day. We moved some classes up into the balcony so there will be plenty of seats available.
Congratulations to our middle school CYO soccer teams! This weekend our 7th-grade girls, 7th-grade boys and 8th-grade boys will play in the Championship game on Saturday at Blanchet High School, starting at 1pm. Throw on your purple and gold, grab those pom-poms and join us in cheering these teams on to victory! Congratulations to all our athletes!
Let’s Go Eagles!
