Principal’s Letter
We had close to 1,000 people join in the fun last Friday evening at our School’s Out, Grill’s Out BBQ. Thank you to Chef Stephanie and her kitchen crew for that amazing spread of delicious food. Thank you to Pablo, the administrative team, and our maintenance crew for all the set-up, tear-down, and behind-the-scenes work you did to ensure this event went off without a hitch. A huge shout-out to Karen Bombino for all her work planning this successful event; what are we going to do without you? For those of you who don’t know, Karen is one of our 28 eighth-grade families who will be leaving us this year. Throughout their tenure at St. John, this group of parents has embodied what Fair Share is all about. From countless hours working in the classroom, fundraising, leading and supporting the musical, helping prepare fresh meals in the school kitchen, coaching CYO championship teams, volunteering at the Parish, and chairing the school commission, this group of parents has done it all – and we will miss them!
Today, the Dick’s Mobile Truck pulled up to the black-top. Students enjoyed an extra-long recess followed by a delicious lunch in the sunshine. Thank you to Dick’s and the Donavan family for your incredible generosity!
Looking for ways to follow in the footsteps of our retiring 8th grade parents and share your time and talents with our St. John community? Consider leading one of our middle school elective classes. Over the past three years we have been blessed to have members of our community lead classes ranging from pottery to managing your millions. This enriching program has become a favorite part of our middle school curriculum, and we are looking to add more offerings next year. Email Gwynedd Rzegocki at grzegocki@st-johnschool.org to learn more about leading an elective course next year. Tomorrow is the last day to donate food and hygiene items to the St. Vincent de Paul ‘Stock the Pantry’ Food Drive. Thank you for your generous support.
Please don’t forget tomorrow is a no hot lunch day for all students. Our kitchen has closed for the summer. Students will need sack lunch for the remainder of the year.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025! We are so proud of you and look forward to celebrating you this weekend.
