Blessing of the Pets

The Parish Family 14 Francis of Assisi ministry invites you to bring your pet to the St. John schoolyard on Sunday, October 12, for a blessing. Father Parrish will bless pets between Noon-12:30 pm.

Please note that we anticipate animals of all sizes and types, and we don’t wish any to be harmed. Thus, we require all dogs to either be leashed or carried in a secure dog carrier. In addition, all other animals (e.g., cats, birds, hamsters, snakes, etc.) need to be brought to the schoolyard in a secure carrier.

If you can’t bring your pet in a secure carrier or if you can’t control your leashed dog, please leave your pet at home and bring a photo for Father Parrish to bless.

Confirmation Registration is open for Parish Family 14!

Our confirmation program will be hosted at St. John this year; all youth in grades 7 and up are welcome. Participants must be baptized Catholics. We will start our classes in person, in November 2025, with Confirmation scheduled for February 2026. Classes meet after the 8:30am mass. You can find the registration form here: https://archseattle.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/5366/responses/new

The sacrament of Confirmation is the third of the sacraments of initiation (the others are Baptism and Eucharist). For Catholics, Confirmation is the sacrament that signifies a deepening of one’s baptismal commitment and a strengthening of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, individuals confirm their faith and become full, active members of the Church. Once confirmed, youth may participate in the liturgy as Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, Lectors and Sacristans.

October is Stewardship Season!

Mark your calendars: we are kicking off our 2026 Parish Stewardship Renewal Drive the weekend of November 1 & 2, which includes the State of the Parish Presentation AT ALL THREE MASSES. We ask that all of our St. John Parish members prayerfully reflect on their giving plans for the coming year. Look for more information in the coming weeks.

Many, many thanks for your continued support. Because of your generosity, we are able to continue to serve the ongoing ministries of St. John. This financial commitment is a testament to your dedication to this community
