Principal’s Letter
Way to go, St. John School! With your generous support, we exceeded our jog-a-thon goal and raised over $107,000 and ran over 1000 miles. Thank you to all who supported this event by donating, volunteering, and coming out to cheer on the runners! The school will celebrate on Friday, 10/10. Celebration Day will include the Springfree Trampoline drawing, students may wear free dress, and ALL students will be able to participate in Cash Grabbin’ Gecko in celebration of their outstanding efforts.
Signs of fall all beginning to show up all around us. The leaves are changing, there is a chill in the air, and we had our first week of rainy recesses. Yesterday, our preschoolers celebrated fall during their field trip to Swan Trail Farms, where they took a hayride, explored the hay maze barn, interacted with the farm animals, and got to choose their very own special pumpkin to take home. Thank you, Preschool Department, for planning such a fun community event.
In today’s NewsViews, you will find information about our upcoming Teacher Conferences the week of October 20. These conferences are an integral way we partner with you in supporting your student’s success here at St. John, and while it may be tempting to schedule a long weekend out of town, we ask you to make these in-person conferences a priority, as teachers will not be scheduling conferences outside of conference windows.
Oktoberfest is just two weeks away; have you secured your ticket yet? I’ve pulled out my lederhosen and have been working on my ping-pong service. Looking for ways to get involved and help support this community fundraiser? Check out the volunteer sign-up.
Tomorrow we invite you to join us in celebrating our all-school community Mass together at 9am; reminder – this is a Dress Uniform day for all students, K-8.
Thank you for the many ways, big and small, you support our community. We all have something the world needs,
Principal Mansfield
