Confirmation Registration is Open for Parish Family 14!

Our confirmation program will be hosted at St. John this year; all youth in grades 7 and up are welcome. Participants must be baptized Catholics. We will start our classes in person, in November 2025, with Confirmation scheduled for February 2026. Classes meet after the 8:30am mass. You can find the registration form here: https://archseattle.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/5366/responses/new

The sacrament of Confirmation is the third of the sacraments of initiation (the others are Baptism and Eucharist). For Catholics, Confirmation is the sacrament that signifies a deepening of one’s baptismal commitment and a strengthening of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, individuals confirm their faith and become full, active members of the Church. Once confirmed, youth may participate in the liturgy as Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, Lectors and Sacristans.

The 2026 Parish Stewardship Drive & State of the Parish is Coming up Quickly!

We are kicking off our 2026 Stewardship Renewal Drive AT ALL THREE MASSES THE WEEKEND OF NOVEMBER 1 & 2, including the State of the Parish Presentation. The State of the Parish will include our current financial picture, a message from a member of the parish on why they support St. John, followed by a photo montage highlighting the great things you have helped St. John accomplish in the last year. We ask you to prayerfully consider your stewardship commitment for 2026.

School Families: In order to be eligible, and to remain eligible, for Parish Fair Share tuition, each family must meet the following criteria:

  • Be registered in the Parish; you may do this at the parish office or online at www.stjohnsea.org
  • Be active in the life of the parish including:
    • ATTEND THE STATE OF THE PARISH PRESENTATION IN PERSON THE WEEKEND OF NOVEMBER 1 & 2
    • Be supportive of or involved in one of the many ministries of the Parish.
    • File a stewardship pledge card if you are a new family or you have changed your pledge amount—otherwise your pledge will be automatically rolled over from 2025
    • Make a consistent effort to meet that pledge.

School families can pick up their Parish Stewardship envelopes at any of the Masses on the weekend of November 1 & 2. The envelope includes your letter from Fr. Parrish with your pledge card and the Parish Fair Share Stewardship Agreement. If you take part in this program, the agreement must be signed and returned to the Parish Office.

Is Your Child Interested in Becoming Catholic?

Do your kids have questions about the Catholic faith? Are they from another faith tradition but feel at home in our Parish Family? Do you have kids over 7 years old who haven’t been baptized? Were they baptized Catholic but want to learn more?

If any of these describe your situation, the OCIC (Order of Christian Initiation of Children) might be the perfect opportunity for your family to grow in faith. Come to an inquiry session and learn more about how the OCIC can help your child grow in faith and connection with our parish community.. Click here for more details:  https://bit.ly/OCIC2025
