Principal’s Letter

As we continue our Lenten journey, I am inspired by the intentional ways our teachers are helping students live out this sacred season. From Works of Mercy wheels and Lenten prayer hands to colorful sock collection bags hanging on classroom doors, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to connect faith to action. Even their math lessons are joining the effort, as students track and graph the progress of our intermediate department sock drive, seeing firsthand how small acts of service add up to make a meaningful difference. Whether gathered in hallways or classrooms for prayer, our students are experiencing Lent not simply as a concept, but as a way of living – with reflection, generosity, and purpose. Our teachers are truly bringing the principles of Lent to life, helping students connect the dots between prayer, sacrifice, and service.

It is show week! The excitement, joy and nervous energy are palpable, and I am transported back to my own theater days. This afternoon, the cast performed a full dress rehearsal for the school, and it was amazing! The sets, carefully crafted by our Shop elective, are out of this world. Our Ghost in the Machine elective has prepared the microphones, lights, and sound boards with professionalism and care, and our Events elective has even curated gift bags for the occasion. On stage and behind the scenes, our middle school students are using their unique gifts to bring this magical story to life for our community. Performances are this weekend, and there is still time to purchase tickets in advance. The online portal will remain open until 11:59 p.m. tonight. Tickets will also be available at the door, but we encourage you to purchase ahead of time. We hope to see you there as we celebrate the incredible talents of our students!

This Lent I am reminded of a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” As we pray, fast, and give, may we also ask ourselves how we are showing up for others – how we are using our words to build up, our gifts to serve, and our courage to stand for what is right.

May this season continue to shape us into a community that not only reflects on love, justice, and mercy – but lives them. We all have something this world needs.
