Principal’s Letter
It’s celebration time here at St. John. Join us tomorrow evening as we kick-off the 26-27 academic year together at our Annual Back-to-School BBQ. Thank you to Chef Stephanie and her team, PA chairs Stephanie Glassburn and Liz Le-Johnson, the BBQ planning committee and all the volunteers who have been hard at work ensuring tomorrow night’s event goes off without a hitch. Students will need a sack lunch tomorrow; the kitchen team will be preparing for the dinner. I encourage you to walk or ride share to the event. Please be mindful of our neighbors when parking. Look forward to seeing you there.
Jog-a-Thon is just a week away. Keep those donations coming. We are ¼ of the way there, having raised over $25,000 towards our $100,000 goal. These funds go to support the St. John operating budget and are a vital part of ensuring the success of our Fair Share Mission. And, remember, the class with the most donations by 12:00 noon on September 16 will get to choose the theme song.
Tomorrow is our annual Blessing of the Backpack food drive, benefitting St. Vincent dePaul and Broadview Thompson K-8 School. Our 6th grade students will be on hand at morning drop-off, collecting donations along 79th and on the black-top as students enter the building. Following drop-off we invite you to join us at 9am for our first all-school community Mass. This is a dress uniform day for students. You can find the Dress Uniform Policy here.
We are rooted in God’s love, called to make a difference.
