Principal’s Letter
We have a big week coming up, starting with the Cross-Country championships this Sunday at Lower Woodland Park. Our K-3 runners will race at 1pm, and our 4th-8th runners at 3:30pm. Wear your St. John swag and cheer our runners on to victory.
On Monday, we are fortunate to have renowned anti-bullying expert, Jodee Blanco, with us throughout the day. Jodee will spend the afternoon speaking to our K-4th and 5th-8th grade students. After school, she will speak with our faculty and staff, and we invite you to join us that evening at 7pm, in the church for Jodee’s parent/guardian presentation. This is a unique opportunity for our entire school community to hear common language around bullying, inclusion, and acting with courage for the common good. I trust you will plan to attend. See you there!
Also on Monday, the school hosts its first Dick’s Drive-In fundraiser lunch of the year. There are five fundraiser lunches over the course of the school year, and together with Dick’s Drive-In, we support different missions and ministries within our local and global communities. This month’s luncheon will be directed to supporting Catholic Relief Services and specifically directed to Hurricane Helene relief. Thank you families for your participation and thanks to the Donovan family.
Next Friday, we will celebrate the conclusion of our Jog-A-Thon fundraiser! Thanks to your generous donations and our students’ persistence, we reached all our goals. It will be a day filled with festivities including the Silly-String Showdown, Cash-Grabbin’-Gecko, movie parties, free dress, and more! Thank you for all you did to make this important fundraiser a success.

Congratulations to Olivia K., who performed at the American Virtuoso International Music Competition Winner’s Recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Monday, Sept. 30. She played Gavotte No. 2 in D Major, Opus 23 by David Popper for cello and piano (accompanist, Kelly Lin). We are so proud of you Olivia!
Don’t forget, tomorrow is a Dress Uniform day for students! All School Mass starts at 9am. Join us.
Go Eagles,
Abby Mansfield
