Principal’s Letter

The countdown is over – Auction Night is finally here! The excitement is building as we gather for one of the most joyful and impactful evenings of our year. At Camp Soaring Eagle, every act of generosity helps our community soar – each gift creating ripples that extend far beyond a single night and into the lives of our students. None of this would be possible without an incredible team behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you to our Auction Co-Chairs, Ainslie Clark and Courtney Blair, along with Nick & Aleah Valley, Chris Sourov, and Pablo, for their leadership and vision. We are also so grateful to Kelly Daniels (Art Lead); Jeri Jarvie, Wilo Dietrich, and Derrick Clark (Graphic Design); Amy Szyszko and Ciara Byars (Dessert Dash); Elena Busto (Raffle Tickets); Grace Duffet, Lauren Exnicios, and Sarah North (Procurement); and Ashley Blair (Photography); Julia Tsurasaki (Decorations Lead); Erin Begley (Volunteer Coordinator); our Class Coordinators and Art Project Leads; our Day Of Volunteers; and the many others who have generously given their time to make this event happen. It truly takes a village; I can’t wait to gather around the “campfire” tomorrow night and continue making ripples together!

Don’t forget, online bidding closes TONIGHT at 10pm. Make sure you refresh the page and ensure you have locked in your favorites before bidding closes. Do you still have that white envelope full of raffle tickets on your kitchen counter? Reminder: ALL raffle tickets, sold or unsold, MUST be returned to the school office tomorrow. This is your students’ ticket to Free Dress tomorrow.

As you browse the online catalog and devise your bidding strategies for tomorrow night, don’t forget to raise your paddle for this year’s Fund-A-Need. Let’s get these bathrooms out of the dark ages and into the modern era, giving our students the bathroom experience they deserve.

This Sunday, 7th-grader Phoebe G., our school Spelling Bee champion, will represent St. John at the Regional Scripps National Spelling Bee. Good luck, Phoebe! Holy Week starts on Monday, and you can find a detailed list of all our mass offerings under the Parish News post. We invite you to join us for our final two Stations of the Cross. Tomorrow our 3rd-grade students will lead us in the Stations beginning at 12:45pm in the church, and next Friday, April 3, our 7th and 8th-grade students will lead us in the Shadow Stations, beginning at 11am. You are also invited to participate in our Family Lenten Adoration next Thursday at 3pm.

I can’t wait to gather around the campfire, roast some s’mores and raise my paddle alongside all of you tomorrow night!

We all have something this world needs,

Abby Mansfield
