Thank you!

Greetings from Seabeck Conference Center where I am at the Principals’ Retreat, learning about Christ in the Classroom and Catechetical Certification for all the teachers. Due to the nature of requirements of this retreat and the timing of the lectures, I will not make it back in time for the Middle School curriculum presentation this evening. I am very grateful to Pablo who will cover for me. I will miss meeting you all. If you have questions that Pablo or the teachers did not cover, please feel free to call me or come by and meet with me next week.

The Jog-a-thon and the Back to School event were a huge success, both in fundraising and fun making! A huge thank you and congratulations to Pablo, Julie Skinner and their team. Thanks also to our sponsors, to you, parents and to the runners. We surpassed both our goals – the fundraising and the mileage goals. What a fine community we have! Congratulations all.

Thank you also to the PA chairs, Liz Overland and Chris Sourov and all the volunteers for their hard work on the BBQ & Carnival. Thank you, Chef Michael and your team for the meal, and to all of you who competed in the dessert bake-off. I enjoyed a very delicious evening!

MAP testing is underway. After a brief interruption to the schedule, due to MAP technical difficulties, testing will resume tomorrow and continue next week in the intermediate and middle school departments. ‘Do your best’, ‘effort’, ‘persistence’ and ‘let your lights shine’ are our catch phrases. The purpose of this assessment is to determine areas for growth.

Also underway is planning for the 100th birthday of the parish.  Check out the invitation and the volunteer sign-up opportunities!

See you at Mass, or soccer or cross-country!
Continue to let your lights shine!
