Message from Administration: Distance Learning Continues 2019/2020

April 6, 2020

Dear Parents,

As you are probably aware, Washington Governor, Jay Inslee today announced the closure of all public and private schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic year in order to continue statewide efforts to reduce the spread of coronavirus and the incidence of COVID-19. We realized this was a possibility. Nonetheless, the teachers and administration team are sad we will not be seeing the children in the school building for the foreseeable future.

Our administrative team is already reviewing the impacts this prolonged closure will have on our entire community, including activities and graduation, Extended Daycare, and planning for the 2020-21 school year. We will continue to communicate with you as soon as we are able. The official communication from the Office of Catholic Schools is located on the school website. Additionally, we have attached a “question & answer” guide for you.

St. John School remains committed to delivering our Distance Learning Plan through June 11, 2020. Our faculty and staff have shown great resiliency and dedication to our families and students in the recent weeks. This will not change as we move forward together, united by the mission of the school.

Sincerely,
Bernadette O’Leary, Principal
Paul Kelley, Assistant Principal
