Principal’s Letter

We have started the self-study for the Western Catholic Educational Association accreditation 2023, using the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools. Accreditation is a process for determining the quality of a school’s overall Catholic identity and educational program. It is about examining our practices, our strengths, what is working well, and what we need to do better to meet the learning needs of the students and to ensure long-term viability and vitality. It is process that calls us to strive for continuous improvement and growth. The study is divided into four domains:  Mission and Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence and Operational Vitality. In meetings with faculty and the School Commission, we established the self-study leadership team, domain chairs and committees under the leadership of Paul Kelley, Self-Study Coordinator. Your input is vital. You will receive a survey in mid-November, and we ask you to take some time and complete it. Teamwork counts!

An example of positive teamwork among parents and teachers is this week’s Student/Parent/Teacher conferences. Conversations with teachers indicate that the conferences have been productive. I am very grateful to the teachers who have committed so much time in preparation for these meetings with you. We are blessed to have such an amazing faculty! A special thanks to the Housermann family who wrote to STAR Radio 101.5 and nominated Ms. Williamson as Teacher of the Week! Congratulations, Miss Williamson!

We look forward to more productive conferences tomorrow. Enjoy the weekend; have a safe and fun Halloween – as you can see from the pictures, some of our students and teachers started the Halloween celebration early!

Happy Halloween!
