Principal’s Letter

On behalf of the students who had quite a day of Jog-a-thon celebrations, I say a huge thank you! Your generosity is greatly appreciated! We began this morning in the gym where the new bleachers were blessed, and we ended the day with the Punish the Principals! Pablo and I are drying out after being soaked by hundreds of water balloons tossed by the fifth graders!

Tomorrow students stay home, and teachers come in to further their Christ in the Classroom Catechetical certification. Fr. Crispin will lead us in Mass, and we will discuss and share the joy of our vocations. Speaking of joy, Fr. Crispin is very pleased with students at Mass, and not just because they celebrated his birthday! On Monday, the Cantionis choir, comprised of students in grades 3-6, sang beautifully at the first all-school Mass. Students from first and eighth grades lectored and led the intercessions. Students also get another opportunity to attend Mass when they come with their department levels once a month. And of course, they are attending with you on Sundays! Keep on praying!

I have even more good news and thanks to share. Congratulations to our 2022 XC team! Overall, our team took 3rd place in the AAA division, and we had numerous top 10 finishes. Shout outs to the 8th-grade boys and 5th-grade girls for winning their respective divisions. Thank you to the Parent Association for hosting Ms. Shaw, our school counselor, as she spoke about Second Step in the St. John curriculum. A recording of her informative presentation is available if you missed it.

Do remember to get your tickets for the 2022 Endowment Event, celebrating Michele Thorniquist and 100 years of St. John, by tomorrow, 10/14. Our students have strong opinions about the new logo and are happy to share them. Unlike the students, you will be the first to see the new logo and receive limited edition new logo swag…if you attend the Endowment Event!

Go Eagles!
