Principal’s Letter: Welcome back!

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year. It was lovely seeing you all today at the drop-in! The building was buzzing with energy and smiles, just how I like it.

This year presents us with many changes. You have a new principal, our Parish has a new priest, and we have merged into a larger parish family community. And while these changes can evoke a number of different emotions, including uncertainty and perhaps even some anxiety, one thing that hasn’t changed is US! You have the same gifted and caring faculty. We will continue to work together as a team, and when we are working together – utilizing our unique strengths and gifts – there is nothing we can’t do! And that brings us to this year’s school theme.

The theme for this academic year is, You are God’s masterpiece; do the good works which God has prepared for you to do. Ephesians 2:10. While this 24-25 school year will be one of flexibility and learning, it is also full of possibilities. We are all God’s masterpieces, and we need to go and do the good works God has planned for us to do.

Speaking of good works, how about the new school website? Huge shoutouts to Di Tran, Gary Hurley, Jonna Skokan, Paul Kelley, Anna Redmond and Allan Quiaoit who worked tirelessly on this amazing redesign. Thank you also to the staff and parents who volunteered their time testing out the website during our soft launch. Today is my first installment as principal in delivering our electronic newsletter, NewsViews. These weekly updates will appear in your email inbox each Thursday evening and will be our primary tool in communicating school news, events, and important reminders – you are going to want to read them! The school website also posts all the weekly news and is your other resource for staying informed, like that handy Back-to-School Checklist and your link to the Back to School BBQ tickets and the portal to order hot lunch!

I want to express my gratitude to the teachers for all their hard work and dedication in preparing for the new school year. They are enthusiastic and ready to welcome your students next week!

I wish you a restful, extended Labor Day weekend and look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday at 8:15am and again at the, NOT TO MISS, Back-To-School BBQ on Friday, September 6.

Go Eagles!
