From the Parish

  • The Annual Catholic Appeal is underway! Each parish in the Archdiocese of Seattle is responsible for a portion of operating costs of the Church in our Archdiocese.  St. John the Evangelist Parish says “thank you” to the 79 parish families pledging to date.  All parish members are asked to pledge either a monetary gift or a prayer.  Use the pledge card you received and send to Mary Wiseman in the parish office for information on pledging by check, donating stock and other options, or link here to donate online.  View the video here:  Annual Catholic Appeal
  • Young Adult Ministry:  Are you in your 20s or 30s and looking to connect with others in your age range to have fun and talk about your faith?  St. John the Evangelist needs your input!  We are looking for suggestions and the interest level in a Young Adult Ministry. Please contact Kristin Kent in the parish office, 206-782-2810 or kkent@stjohnsea.org and let her know your thoughts, suggestions for activities, interest – or just want to be in the email loop.
  • North Seattle Catholic Youth:  No Sunday gathering this weekend – enjoy your mothers! Learn about and register for upcoming opportunities here – Pentecost Picnic, May 20; Ignite Your Torch, Catholic Youth Conference, July 6-9.  Group leaders are needed for middle and high school small groups, to begin in Fall 2018.  Questions may be directed to Kate Brown, Youth Ministry Director, 206-488-5970 or kate@nseattlecatholic_youth.org.
  • Middle School Summer Mission Trip – Youth Migrant Project, August 19-24:  Middle school parents, here’s a fantastic opportunity for your children. St. John and Sacred Heart are joining together for a week of service and community to the Skagit Valley. Students will learn about how others live, performing hands-on service working with migrant families and children, experience some actual farming, volunteer at a food bank, and see in real time the importance of service in the lives they touch and to their own lives, and having lots of fun building community.  Please see the attached flyer and contact Kristin Kent with questions. kkent@stjohnsea.org
  • Vacation Bible School, July 30-August 3, 9am-12:30pm:  Christ the King Parish has invited St. John School students to join their Vacation Bible School this summer! This is for children entering Kindergarten through Grade 5 in the Fall. Please see the attached for more information and to register. If you are interested in volunteering to assist, link here or contact EllenAnn Chiddix-Johnston, echiddix@ckseattle.org.
