Parish News

Visit the Parish Website for detailed information about Mass schedules, special events, and the Parish e-newsletter. The following are highlights:

WestSide Baby      St. John has proudly supported WestSide Baby for years with our collection cribs in the church and school. COVID-19 caused huge disruption, both in donations and distribution, but the families supported by WestSide Baby still need our help! Currently, due to limited staffing under Washington’s Phase 3, we can only accept donations of UNOPENED packaged diapers and hygiene products such as wipes, soap, shampoo, and diaper cream. You can drop off items in the crib in the vestibule of the church during Mass times or in the Parish office during office hours from 8-12pm and 1-4pm, Monday-Friday. WestSide Baby appreciates the ongoing support of the St. John community and understanding of the current safety policies for the wellbeing of their staff, volunteers, and community.

Annual Catholic Appeal     We are off to a great start! We have received $18,912 from 54 families so far; that’s already 20% of our goal! Thank you for your support! In speaking about the Annual Catholic Appeal at Mass this past weekend, Lawrence Kent said, “Supporting the ACA is a one-stop-shop that helps the Archdiocese offer resources to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of more than 60 ministries in our area.” This week, you will receive Fr. Crispin’s letter by mail or email inviting us all to generously support the essential ministries and shared services of the Archdiocese through the Appeal. If you are able to contribute, please know that each dollar donated makes a difference. St. John’s goal this year is $98,710. If we exceed this goal, all excess payments received will go toward a permanent, upgraded video and sound system for the church. The easiest way to contribute is to go to http://www.archseattle.org/acadonate. You may also donate securely by phone at 1-800-809-4921, or mail your donation in the envelope you received in the letter from the Archbishop. Asante Sana to all who have already made a donation – it is greatly appreciated!

Public Masses     We can now have public Masses with limited capacity. Reservations are required to attend Mass; visit the Parish Mass Reservation page here.
