Parent Association Speaker Series

Parent Association presents “Helping Your Child Love Their Body: Building Healthy Body Image in a Thinness-Obsessed Culture,” a lecture with Angela Celio Doyle, Ph.D, on Thursday, January 19, at 7pm in Egan Hall.

Dr. Doyle will share research and clinical insights on ways parents can help their sons and daughters feel confident in their bodies, be mindful of health rather than seeking an unrealistic ideal, and prevent eating disorders in the midst of a culture that celebrates a narrow vision of what’s attractive. There will be plenty of time for questions and parent discussion, too. Dr. Doyle is a St. John parent and parish member. She is a clinical psychologist and co-directs the Eating Disorders Center at the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle with her husband, Peter. She also serves as Clinical Instructor of Psychology at the University of Washington.

Due to the sensitive nature of this talk, this will be an adults-only event. Childcare will be available in XDC – link here to register. Space is limited.
