Parent Association Guest Speaker Series
We are excited to announce Ms. Shaw, our school counselor, as our first PA Guest Speaker this year. She will join us on October 12, at 7pm to talk about the integration of our Second Step curriculum across all grade levels at St. John. Our teachers and admin team are delighted to bring this research-based social-emotional learning programming to our school. Second Step provides a holistic approach to building supportive, inclusive and equitable communities.
During our time together, Ms. Shaw will share:
- The philosophy behind Second Step and how the curriculum is applied school wide
- How Second Step is created to support K-8 developmental levels, in order to grow with our students
- How to bridge Second Step between home and school so we can all use common language and practices to support our children’s social-emotional development
