CRS Rice Bowl: Stories of Hope

This week, CRS Rice Bowl’s Stories of Hope takes us to Honduras. Rony, his wife, Reina, and their two sons live two hours from Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. Rony and Reina are farmers and work very hard to provide opportunities for their children. But it’s difficult to get good harvests in the Dry Corridor-an area impacted by high temperatures, drought and fierce storms. Determined to support their children, Rony participated in a Catholic Relief Services project, which helped him repair an old reservoir and install a low-cost irrigation system to grow his crops. Rony can now feed his family, give his children opportunities like soccer academy and help people in his community. What changes have you made in your professional, personal or spiritual life that have benefited others? The Lenten journey allows us the opportunity to pray, reflect and grow closer to God.
