We are thrilled to announce that The Seattle Opera’s tour production of Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World is coming to perform tomorrow, Friday, April 28, 2023, at 1:45pm for students in grades K-5 and the Middle School Drama Elective. Based on Laurence Anholt’s children’s book of the same name, the opera tells the story of Mariana, a young girl living in Mexico City who has her portrait painted by Frida Kahlo. This interactive piece features a text that is half English and half Spanish and brings opera to life at school! We are very excited about this opportunity for our students to experience music, art, Spanish and history! Be sure to ask your students about it!
