Princpal’s Letter

By the time you read this, you will have participated in Family STEM night! Thank you, teachers, for hosting this wonderful community event. It was a stellar evening! Tomorrow morning you have another opportunity to improve your brain power by joining the first-ever Morning Movement session, hosted by the Wellness Committee. Every member of the St. John community – students, parents/guardians, faculty and staff – is invited to wear Kraken-colored tops (students must wear uniform bottoms) and get to campus by 8am to participate in invigorating exercises to start the day. After Morning Movement, be sure to stop by the last Parent Association meeting of the year at 8:30am in Egan Hall. It will be Sara Dean and Allan Quiaoit’s last meeting as co-chairs. Do come by to find out about the many activities planned for the end of the year and to thank Sara and Allan for their amazing leadership.

When you stop by campus, please consider donating to the St. John Fill the Truck Diaper Drive. Students in the Missionary Discipleship Elective are collecting diapers and wipes for Westside Baby. Please help them reach their goal of filling the entire bed of a pickup truck. Students will be collecting donations before and after school. Thank you for supporting our students, and thank you, second-grade families, for supporting faculty and staff. The sweet treats were greatly appreciated!

With so many celebrations happening this month at St. John, I would like to take time to recognize Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and honor the many contributions and achievements of these communities, which have greatly enriched our country. For more information, including online events, discussions and history, please visit the Asian Pacific American Heritage site.

I’ll see you tomorrow morning for Morning Movement,

Bernadette O’Leary
