Principal’s Letter

It has been quite a week here with buses and cars lining up to take our students to activities that broaden the mind and open the heart. Check out Facebook and Instagram to see our students learning, volunteering and growing! I am so proud of our middle school students; they have done a terrific job representing St. John to the local and national community. This could not have been accomplished without the support of our teachers and chaperones – thank you.

I am also so proud of our primary and intermediate students – they jumped their hearts out today, raising funds for the American Heart Association and its important work. Our students, with the support of their families, have unlocked all the incentives! I am sure you will be hearing about the extra 15 minutes of recess and a couple of staff getting “pie’d” in the next several weeks. Though the incentives have been met, donations can still be made until May 26. Thank you to all the families for your generous support! And thank you to the faculty, staff and volunteers who made the kindergarten and new families (grades 1-8) feel like part of the community at the Welcome event this afternoon. It was a grand day to be sure.

Speaking of grand, I am excited to welcome grandparents, friends, parents and relatives of students in grades kindergarten through 2 to the campus tomorrow for Grand Day, Spring 2023! The students are ready to celebrate their special friends and relatives with songs and activities. Do recall tomorrow is Dress Uniform for all students. The celebration continues this weekend as our students in grade 2 make their First Holy Communion. God bless these angels.

Don’t forget to purchase tickets for the School’s Out Grill’s Out Year-End BBQ. Remember, tickets will not be available for purchase after May 30.

Writing this letter reminds me yet again that our community is so special – thank you.
