Principal’s Letter

As we prepare for Mid-Winter Holiday, I remind you that if your student will be absent tomorrow, Friday, 2/16, and/or the days after Mid-Winter Holiday, please be sure to submit an attendance form. Safety is always on our minds, and we take attendance every school day. We need your partnership in helping us locate every single student. Please submit an attendance form if your child will not be at school for any reason.

This week has been busy with playing, learning, serving and praying! Our 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball teams are the CYO 2024 Basketball Champions! The 7th-grade boys’ team played one of their most exciting games this season. Down but not out, they battled back from a double-digit deficit to win the game in overtime! The 8th-grade boys then came out and closed their career with a huge win! Thank you to all the teachers, students and parents who cheered these teams to victory.

On campus, students were celebrating the 100th day of school through reading, counting, collaging and so much more. Students also came out in full force to support their Unbound classmates at the Mardi Gras Market Bake Sale. Thank you to the Intermediate Department for spearheading the fundraiser and to the parents, students and specialist teachers who donated to and volunteered at the event.

Yesterday, Father Crispin led us in a moving Ash Wednesday Mass. He reminded students that Lent is a time of repentance and closeness to God in preparation for the day of Christ’s resurrection at Easter. As we travel on our Lenten journey, I ask you to remember to help our global neighbors who are affected by hunger and poverty by participating in CRS Rice Bowl. I also invite you to the Stations of the Cross each Friday (be sure to check the school calendar for times).

Let us all walk in the footsteps of Christ,

Bernadette O’Leary
