Happy New Year!

Welcome back to school! Thank you for the many ways you recognized the faculty and staff over the Christmas season. We feel very blessed!

Thank you also for the donations you made to those in need. St. Vincent de Paul, the homeless shelters, Westside Baby and our homebound neighbors are so appreciative. Sixth-grade students are organizing one more drive during this cold season. They are collecting gently used gloves, scarfs, hats, coats, unbreakable travel mugs, blankets – items that will be donated to United Way to keep the homeless warmer. This is an opportunity to clean out the closet! Donations will be collected in the classrooms starting tomorrow and all next week. The drive ends on Tuesday, January 17.  Thank you!

Grade Two Assistant On Board — We welcome Miss Sydney Neuman to St. John School as Mrs. Oines’ Teaching Assistant.  Some of you may already be acquainted with Miss Neuman through XDC. A huge thank you to Mrs. Skinner for working with Mrs. Oines in the interim.

Parent Education — Save the date for the timely and important Parent Education presentation on Thursday, January 19.  Thank you, Dr. Angela Doyle, St. John parent, for sharing your time and wealth of knowledge and experience with us. Click on the link for further information.

Early Dismissal Reminder — This is the Accreditation year! The team under the leadership of Dr. Ann Zeches from Tucson, AZ will make their first visit on Monday, January 23. Students will be dismissed at 2:00pm on that day. Families of children who are already registered for Extended Day Care on that day will not be charged for the extra hour.

Check the Calendar — With Open Houses, Catholic Schools Week, State of the School, Facilitation and more, we have a busy time coming up! Be sure to check the calendar frequently.

Blue Friday! — Let’s support the Seahawks tomorrow!  Students may wear blue and green. Free dress rules apply.  See the handbook.

God Bless,

Bernadette
