Did You Know: St. John Art Program

Kyoungmi Jang (Mrs. Kay), who holds a Masters Degree in Art Education and has over 15 years of teaching experience, leads the Art Program at St. John School.  Primary and Intermediate grades receive art instruction once a week, while Middle School grades receive instruction once a week for one trimester.

Mrs. Kay’s passion for teaching art to all students shows itself through her thoughtful curriculum.  In her classes, Mrs. Kay encourages her students to joyfully explore their imagination.  She challenges them to think deeply about their work.  She helps them become confident in their growing talents – there are no bad artists!  She invites them to express their creativity through a variety of mediums.

Art education at St. John culminates in an All-School Art Show in late Spring.  Art Club members are the curators for the Art Show.

Art inspires, it heals, it excites, and it does so much more.  Our students are fortunate to have so many opportunities to discover what art means to them.
