Principal’s Letter

Welcome back! Jesus is Risen, and He is with us! The fifty days from the Sunday of the Resurrection to Pentecost Sunday are celebrated in joy, and the liturgical color is white reflecting that joy. God is with us, and He has promised that His covenant of love will extend to all people for all time. He loves us, and He will care for us. Alleluia!

These next joyful weeks include celebrations like the Crowning of Mary, First Holy Communion and graduations. They include field trips, local and cross-country, music performances, play-offs and, of course, classwork, homework and projects! The excitement starts with the Family Decade Dance this Saturday! Remember to dig out those bellbottoms, dust off the poodle skirts or find your favorite flannel and come dressed as your favorite decade! As you get your costumes ready, I would like to extend a friendly reminder to be culturally sensitive when selecting costumes and accessories. Thank you, PA team! We also have several exciting events happening next Friday, April 28: the Kids Heart Challenge assembly, The Seattle Opera’s Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World performance and Superintendent Nicholas Ford’s visit. This will be a dress uniform day. Be sure to check your calendars and schedules frequently.

Congratulations to seventh grader, Eli O. who is a Washington state delegate for JDRF. Eli, along with children representing all 50 states, Washington, D.C., as well as Australia, Canada, Israel, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, will travel to our nation’s capital to meet with federal lawmakers and share their unique T1D stories.

Two housekeeping items: if your family participated in Rice Bowls and has not returned them, please do so as soon as possible. Rice Bowls can be returned to the student’s teacher or the Parish Admin. Building. The STEM Team is looking for empty and clean 2-liter soda bottles for a Family STEM Night activity. Please drop off the bottles to Mr. Tice. Thank you!

See you at the Family Decade Dance!
