Principal’s Letter

It’s been four days, and I still find myself humming, “A little bit of you, A little bit of me…”! What a great weekend we had at Frozen Jr. The cast and crew were magnificent at every single performance. Once again, I thank director, Kari Aguila, assistant co-directors, David Benefiel and Erin Kalanquin, and the big team that supported the wonderful production.

Another team that deserves huge applause is the Principal Search Committee. The committee dedicated many hours to helping Fr. Crispin determine the most suitable principal for St. John. We are delighted by the announcement that Ms. Abby Mansfield, current middle school Religion teacher, will take over on July 1. Congratulations, Ms. Mansfield.

In the meantime, I am here, and I will do all I can to support Ms. Mansfield to ensure a smooth transition.

A third very hard-working team is our auction team! We are eight days out, and A Novel Soiree has been revised and edited and is ready for enjoyment. If you are not planning to attend the auction, please consider volunteering. We are in need of food and wine servers. Did you know each volunteer server saves the school $150 a person? And we always need help with cleanup after the event. Do you know a high school student looking for volunteering hours? Cleaning up after the auction is a great way to get those service hours. And don’t forget to turn in those raffle tickets, sold and unsold, to the school before 3/15. All students whose families have returned raffle tickets may celebrate with free dress on Friday, March 15.

Tomorrow the school and parish staff will be on retreat. Our focus at this year’s retreat is prayer. We will begin the day with Mass followed by guided prayer time and discussion with Fr. Crispin. As we are just over half-way through Lent, I hope you are making time for your family to celebrate our Lenten obligations. See you at Mass this weekend!

God bless,

Bernadette O’Leary
