Principal’s Letter

It’s Auction Week!

The plot is building, excitement is growing and characters are emerging as online bidding continues. Tomorrow we reach the climax of this story as together we celebrate A Novel Soiree. The theme of this novel is advancing St. John School and ensuring the best Catholic education for our students. We are grateful and indebted to a host of characters, including Co-Chairs, Lauren and Andrew Exnicios, and Fundraising Administrator, Chris Sourov, who contributed to this bestseller. Let’s all support them online this week and live tomorrow evening. Bid on and make this auction a bestseller!

To get in a lively mood and to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the Highland Pipers will be on the blacktop in the morning at drop-off. I look forward to seeing our Irish dancers showing us their skills! Recall, students whose families have returned auction raffle tickets may wear free dress…perhaps students should wear green!

Speaking of green, we are all very excited to see the bright green padding being laid on the play-pit. Take a peek, and help us finish it in style by donating to Fund-a-Need.

Next week, students in grades 2-8 will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Penance. Twice a year, at Lent and Advent, Fr. Crispin spends three mornings hearing the students’ confessions and helping them fulfill their Easter duty. Non-Catholic students are also invited to participate and meet with Fr. Crispin if they wish. They will not receive the sacrament.

On March 23, parents of students in grades PreK-5 are invited to take a night off on the Faith Formation team. Attend the 5pm family-focused mass on Saturday, March 23 then drop off your children in the Quigley building and head out on a date night. We will watch a movie and have pizza and beverages. Please pick up the children by 8:30pm. Please RSVP for your child(ren) or volunteer at the event here. Contribute to the cost of these events via Venmo @stjohntheevangelist-seattle with PNO in the memo line.

I cannot wait to see you all tomorrow evening; let’s go St. John!
