A Story of Hope from Indonesia: Located in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is known for its beautiful beaches and friendly people. Many of the country’s more than 17,000 islands are in the Ring of Fire, a region where volcanic eruptions and earthquakes are common. Climate-related disasters such as cyclones also threaten the islands and are becoming more frequent and destructive.
Evita and her family joined a disaster preparedness group, through Catholic Relief Services, to help her family become more resilient against natural disasters and have more reliable access to food. As we experience Lent this season, we are encouraged to encounter God and our global family throughout Lent by practicing the pillars of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
