The Second Week of Advent

The second week of Advent saw us lighting two Advent candles at prayer on Monday, celebrating Mass on Tuesday and announcing the beginning of the Extraordinary Year of Mercy called by Pope Francis. At Mass, Fr. Angelovic reminded the students that Mary is our example of goodness. Like her, we must strive to do our best. During this Year of Mercy, let’s join our fellow Catholics around the world as we make an extra effort to pray more intentionally and to show forgiveness.

On Wednesday, middle school students participated in the Hour of Code.  We are very grateful to parent, Lisa Boucher, for leading this venture with us.  The students are way ahead of most of us when it comes to coding and next year, we hope to get the whole school participating in the Hour of Code.  We teachers will need to attend coding bootcamp!  If you wish to learn to code and to keep up with your child go to code.org for a tutorial!  Also be on the watch for information about a Minecraft night!

Continue to be apprised of all of the opportunities in the parish and school for collaboration and feedback.  As we continually strive to move forward and improve, we are working on our accreditation self-study, continuing the make-over of Egan Hall, and updating the Parish Strategic Plan.  See below.

Tonight at 7:00 we have our first Christmas Concert. Mrs. Kelly’s music class, band students and Cantionis will gladden our hearts with Christmas spirit.  Next week, the preschool and the primary students will perform for us.  Please be sure to read the emails from the teachers so that you know when and where the students check-in.

Wishing you peace and joy,

Bernadette O’Leary
